This is a great new tradition at SMU that I hope would continue to be supported by the fans and SMU sports adminstration. Would be great to continue to get the word out by sending notices and press releases out today to remind and encourage everyones particpation. It was amazing to see the players faces when they turned on to Bishop before the TCU ---hope everyone makes a effort to join the players walk. Assuming a 4:15 start. Get the word out !

During the pre-JJ tenure, there was a player walk from Perkins across the blvd to the stadium. This isn't a new thing, just the geldings are.

I've heard Peruna hasn't been invited or included in this particular budding "tradition", yet there is mention just above that the geldings are. Any truth to that?

The geldings walk with the players...Peruna walks with the band later in the day when the band leads the fans to the stadium. BTW, more people are at the Vard by the time Peruna comes by than are there for the Mustang walk.

None. This new tradition was cleared through our spirit groups, which included Peruna handlers. Logistics made it difficult, if not impossible, for Peruna to be a part of the team's walk as he has other duties around this time. That said, Peruna, the school's official mascot, leads the band and the fans in the grand march into the stadium.

Thanks, for putting an end to another potential "panic" fest! PONY UP!

Exactly, none of Peruna's duties have changed. Steve Orsini has personally assured me that Peruna is the SMU Mascot now and forever. Now fellas lets beat Tulsa.
