and we are bowl eligible......not bad if you consider where we were a year and a half ago.
Looking at the C-USA West:
SMU 3-0
Houston 2-0
UTEP 2-1
Obviously, the UH game in two weeks is huge and could decide the West. While UTEP is 2-1, they have played a ridiculously easy schedule.
Our remaining schedule and my prediction:
at Navy - L
Houston - W
at Tulane - W
at UTEP - W
Marshall - W
at East Carolina - L
All winnable games but I think we finish 8-4 and 7-1 in C-USA..... Then play East Carolina for a second straight week in the C-USA championship.

I think it will be the other 'SMU' to come out of the East. Southern Miss.
UTEP has an easy schedule but they are also in the running for the West Title, are now one game from bowl eligibility, they are on a roll and are always tough to beat in El Paso....I think thats where we have a real show down....

just so ya know, East Carolina beat So Miss yesterday.......East Carolina is 3-0 and now holds the tie-breaker over So Miss, who is 1-1 in C-USA play

We need to win at least 7. 6 wins only gives you bowl eligibility with no bowl guarantee. 7+ wins normally gives you a bowl.

I just saw that..Sothern Miss was so far ahead early ( ahead by 20 points in the first quarter), I thought for sure they would have won...

7 wins is the minimum needed. 8 is closer to reality but 9+ is a very real possibility. The goal is to win the conference title (and should be). We have a challenging but realistic schedule left. we could easily run the tables and win the West of CUSA. Then a conference title game and a Liberty Bowl win. Sure, pure conjecture, but possible.
And it would put us in a position for BSC busting next year.

How is home field for the Conference USA title game determined? Is it the best overall record or the best record in the conference. For example both ECU and SMU are 3-0 in the conference. If we both run the conference table who gets home field? What are the tie breakers?

All UTEP wins are either bottom 10 or FCS. (Assuming Rice makes bottom 10 this week and noting that the winner of the NM v NM St pillow fight will not be there this week by rule)
UTEP is tough to figure.

I would guess home field is given to the best conference record. Us and Eaat Carolina can't both run the table because we end the regular season at East Carolina

Tulane has spurts of time when they can put points on the board. Every conf game will be tough.

Again, we can lose to anyone. We have to play each game when it comes as if its the only game on the schedule. If we do, then we have a chance to play ECU two weeks in a row.

Allow me to rephrase. If a team in the East and a Team in the West both run the table in the conference who gets the championship game? What are the tie breakers?
