SMU game day experience from the sideline

Postby Mestengo » Sun Oct 10, 2010 11:34 am

Would just like to thank the administration, and public relations for allowing us inside to see, and do all. Our guide Daniel was extremely accommodating. The entire experience was worth while and flat out fun.

It was nice to sit in the wine and cheese crowd section to try it out in real time for a few minutes. That lady in front of us must have been a descendant of BUS because she was screaming and beating on the window up there lol. Still would always want to sit in 104. (Except when it’s 102) They need to have something like the hall of champions for us early in the season every year.

I tried to convince RGVPony do go up in the radio booth and do a shout out to one of his old girlfriends but was advised to chill.

The most worth while experience with out question was the sideline passes. Standing on the field and watching the pass come with in a few feet I wanted to jump up and knock it down my self, then walk over to June and give him the next play.

BTW I thought it was very respectful of TULSA to switch directions and wait at the end of the game for the playing of Varsity.

Thanks again.

I assume you are talking about the Tulsa players. The Tulsa band started playing while we were still singing Varsity. :x
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Mestango, Thanks so much for this post. We are a long way away from our son and any peaks of him are the best. He and the entire team look like they are having a blast! Thanks again for the video

I noticed that too, the Tulsa band after finishing their school song, cranked up again during the middle of Varsity.

it was quite a night. Enjoyed visiting with all the folks everywhere. Down on the sidelines there was a couple from Hawaii who flew in just for this game-friends of JJ. Also interesting chatting with the 'real' media folks and seeing everything that happens inside the dotted lines. Mestengo needs to wear more comfortable shoes next time.

Anyone notice Acker #21 from Oregon in this clip?....he seems really distant and not connected ( no fingers up and could care less about the SMU alma mater)..I noticed this vibe from him during the game as well....since he was pulled after the TT snafu and I believe hasn't played since, is he disconnected himself from the team..anyone know about his feelings or attitude?
His friend McCoy from the basketball team left back to Portland and wonder if Acker isn't far behind?

He looks pretty uninterested for sure, noticed others with half hearted pony ears up as well.
