Re: SMU Climbs to #41We could make a big move this weekend with a win. A lot of the teams ahead of us are looking at probable losses.
Re: SMU Climbs to #41Looking down one spot, lurks UTEP. This may become the most important game of the year for us. Always a tough road game.
Re: SMU Climbs to #41
I'm getting more nervous about the UTEP game than I am the Houston game. I have some buddies who are UH alums, and they said they have now lost some of their best defensive players for the year in last night's game.
Re: SMU Climbs to #41Yea, that UTEP game is one we have to get. We've come along ways, but a win like that on the road will be huge for this program. UTEP over the next 3 weeks has UAB, Tulane, and Marshall, so they should be 4-1 in the conference heading into the game against us. With us still having that road game to close out the season against East Carolina which is probably going to be a shootout, UTEP is a BIG game.
Re: SMU Climbs to #41
I have been saying for weeks on many posts about the UTEP game as being the season changer...you all are finally starting to listen to me( I feel like Stallion crowing here).....damn And 'climbing' to #41?.......struggling is more like it...we win at Navy and then beat Houston......THEN we have something to yell about....
Re: SMU Climbs to #41Mia Copa, your right...
Re: SMU Climbs to #41
Culpa? ![]() SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Re: SMU Climbs to #41Geez guys. 4-2 is great for SMU, but I'm concerned about Navy. At this point, let's let UTEP worry about their stuff. As cliche as it is, let's worry about the week ahead. When we're in control coming into the UTEP game we can revisit this. I am confident that we will win, but let's take care of business as needed.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.
Potential is nothing, performance is everything.
Re: SMU Climbs to #41I agree with GA Mustang. We are 41 and Navy is 52. I want the Ponies to take care of business in Maryland and then think about UTEP.

Thanks coach! ![]()
Re: SMU Climbs to #41
I would prefer that after Navy they worry about Houston, then Tulane, then UTEP - but I guess you might have your own ideas about it.
