In the latest cbssports.com poll. Just ahead of Notre Dame, UCLA, and ECU, and just behind A&M, Tech, and USC.

We could make a big move this weekend with a win. A lot of the teams ahead of us are looking at probable losses.

Looking down one spot, lurks UTEP. This may become the most important game of the year for us. Always a tough road game.

I'm getting more nervous about the UTEP game than I am the Houston game. I have some buddies who are UH alums, and they said they have now lost some of their best defensive players for the year in last night's game.

Yea, that UTEP game is one we have to get. We've come along ways, but a win like that on the road will be huge for this program. UTEP over the next 3 weeks has UAB, Tulane, and Marshall, so they should be 4-1 in the conference heading into the game against us. With us still having that road game to close out the season against East Carolina which is probably going to be a shootout, UTEP is a BIG game.

I have been saying for weeks on many posts about the UTEP game as being the season changer...you all are finally starting to listen to me( I feel like Stallion crowing here).....damn
And 'climbing' to #41?.......struggling is more like it...we win at Navy and then beat Houston......THEN we have something to yell about....

Geez guys. 4-2 is great for SMU, but I'm concerned about Navy. At this point, let's let UTEP worry about their stuff. As cliche as it is, let's worry about the week ahead. When we're in control coming into the UTEP game we can revisit this. I am confident that we will win, but let's take care of business as needed.

I agree with GA Mustang. We are 41 and Navy is 52. I want the Ponies to take care of business in Maryland and then think about UTEP.

I would prefer that after Navy they worry about Houston, then Tulane, then UTEP - but I guess you might have your own ideas about it.
