BCS Countown on ESPNOSU will be #1 unfortunately. I think they lose to at least 3 SEC teams. TCU will need some help.
Re: BCS Countown on ESPNThat's a crock. Ohio State absolutely deserves to be No. 1 in the country. And you don't know that they would lose to 3 SEC teams -- and neither do I.
Re: BCS Countown on ESPN
They'd probably lose to 4 SEC teams. #NewLobCity
Re: BCS Countown on ESPNI hate OSU and their stupid dot the i band!!
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: BCS Countown on ESPNIt IS OSU with Oregon #2 and then Boise State and THEN TCU at #4......it will be fun to watch this transpire to the end of the season...IF they all stay on course
Re: BCS Countown on ESPNBCS computers don't have Ohio State ranked that high.

Re: BCS Countown on ESPNTHE Ohio State loses to Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, LSU and maybe Florida. Pryor is one heck of an overrated QB. Mark May likes to dog TCU and Boise for being in non-AQ conferences.
Re: BCS Countown on ESPN
Define how Pryor is overrated? Do you have the Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, LSU and Florida scores handy? You know I checked the internet and it's funny how those teams are not playing each other...unless you have seen something else. DOT THE i, BABY. BEHOLD THE POWER OF THE BIG TEN!! I'll see them for myself on Oct. 30 in Minneapolis -- that's an exhibition game, of course. Last edited by George S. Patton on Sun Oct 10, 2010 8:11 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: BCS Countown on ESPNWhy are we discussing OK State so much on this board?
Re: BCS Countown on ESPN
Pryor is overrated because he hasn't led OSU to a National Championship despite the free ride they have every year playing in the Big 10. According to Jeff Sagarin, OSU's schedule thus far is rated #117 in the country. While Oregon, TCU, and Boise's schedules rank 29, 56, and 28 respectively. Their toughest test all year will be at Iowa. Also, looking at the Buckeye's results the last 3/4 years against top ten teams, I'm not sure if they've even won one. You can't dog Boise and TCU for having weak schedules when OSU plays 2 or 3 top 20 teams per year.
Re: BCS Countown on ESPNSo you think winning a conference championship is a free ride and it's not earned? You think their nine Big Ten opponents just laid down for them every week over.
So do you think if SMU wins CUSA, that will be a free ride as well? Keep in mind that the rankings are not created by Ohio State but by pollsters -- meaning they don't control the rankings. FWIW over the last two years, Ohio State has won its last four meetings against teams ranked #12 or higher. 2009 Penn State -- #11 Iowa -- #10 Oregon (Rose Bowl) -- #7 -- Yeah, and I think Pryor totally outplayed Masoli (whom I believe was hyped a helluva lot more than Pryor was and given all of the accolades). 2010 Miami (Fla) -- #12 I'm sure you'd like to quickly dismiss those Big Ten rankings but they are what they are. So thanks. Look the bottom line is that a good number of you on this board have a bias against the Big Ten and that's fine. You hate their style of football and blah, blah, blah And the other bottom line is that I love the Big Ten, and that will never change. I love the debate. BEHOLD THE POWER OF BIG TEN!!
Re: BCS Countown on ESPNI think they're a good team, I just think the polls have them high because of their history. The same thing that happened last year will happen this year. They'll slip up one week like they did against powerhouse Purdue (1-5 at the time of the meeting with OSU last year) and that'll be that.
That's the reason why Pryor is overrated. Superstar QB's with 5 star recruits as teammates don't lose to 1-5 teams.
Re: BCS Countown on ESPN
So does LSU with 5 star recruits
Re: BCS Countown on ESPNSo I'm tired of everyone slobbering over the SEC, It is the biggest [deleted] ever. "All SEC teams are the best in the country because they have to play all the other teams in the SEC". It's rediculous. Where is the evidence florida is any good? is is because they looked so good against Miami OH, USF? oh wait they didn't look good against those teams. They put a pasting on Tennesee and Kentucky two legitamate teams right? please. Mississipi State, Ole Miss, Tenn., and Kentucky are all so much better than the Penn State, Texas A&M, and Cals of the world, give me a break. But in the SEC if you beat up on your mediocre to poor teams suddenly you are in the top 10 and don't drop when you lose to the better teams. How do you think LSU would do having to play Iowa, Mich St, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, and Northwestern with a mix of at home or on the road? probably not as well as Ohio State would plaing Auborn, Florida, SC, Alabama and LSU mixed on the road and home.
Also people always like to say Boise or a TCU would lose X amount of games in the SEC. Which teams would beat Boise or TCU at boise or TCU? You don't think BOISE or TCU could go on the raod and beat an LSU or Florida they way those teams have played against mediocre teams this year? please The truth is every conference has a few really good teams and a bunch of mediocre to poor teams. The only way to say which teams are the Best is when they play
Re: BCS Countown on ESPNGeneral, Sir... Take a deep breath and try not to stroke out on us. Let me simplify this argument for you.
Ohio State makes it a point to play as few competitive non conference games as possible (they game the BCS system). They generally have one per year, this year it was Miami. I truly like what Shannon is doing with that program, but Harris throws more bad interceptions than anybody else in the country. They scheduled it thinking it was going to be a good game, but Miami is still over rated (See this weekend's waxing from the clown college in Tallahassee). In the past couple of years they played USC and got waxed. Marshall, Ohio and Eastern Michigan are not on the same talent level as OSU. They blew those teams out and should blow those teams out on talent alone. I am willing to bet that Oregon, Boise, Nebraska, Oklahoma, TCU...Etc would blow those teams out. In the Big Ten Conference they play Indiana (bottom third of conference), Illinois (Bottom third of the conference), Penn State (having a wait 'till next year kind of season), Wisconsin (A BiPolar kind of team - you just don't know who is going to show up), Minn (Bottom third of the conference), Purdue (Bottom Third of the conference - shouldn't be, but are), Iowa (should be a good game), and Michigan (looks pretty right now, but their "D" is comparable to UT's "O"). So they might have two or three tough games in conference. My point in this is that OSU does as little as possible during the regular season and then wonders why it gets beaten in 3 out of last 4 bowl games. With Michigan starting to re-emerge the Big Ten will be a better conference, but OSU will still make it a point not to play anybody. As to Pryor - I think he is a good ball player, but others would have the same or better stats with the tools available to him and playing inferior opponents. How special would he be if he switched places with Robert Griffin? P.S. Cousins from MSU might be the best QB in the conference. Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
