Need help with family argument (Maybe SID) can help

My wife and I are in disagreement, and I was wondering if the SID or others on this board might have an answer. I say the production costs to broadcast a football game on television is probably around $15K. I am not talking about a major game broadcast on one of the major networks, like a Texas/OU, but a game like the SMU/Tulsa game, that was broadcast locally and in OK. My significant other says it is significantly more. And like a good female, she would not commit to a figure, just that I am way low on my estimate.
Does anyone have and educated answer?

That won't happen. We made an agreement that who ever leaves first has to take the kids. It has worked for 30 years.

I dunno...that might still be a better deal for the Mrs. if she ever decides to pursue it.

I'd be surprised if we got any type of answer about this, but I think your wife's right - $15K seems low, considering all that has to go into such a production - equipment, tech, staff, announcers, etc.

I think renting the production truck alone would exceed $15k..

That makes me wonder what kind of rate SMU is paying with how high the campus-wide usage is. They've gotta be in the .02-.04/kWh range.

that's what we all thought in my EE class, we all guessed that it was the most expensive thing SMU pays for at a game.
math proved otherwise, if you are still in disbelief then i will go dig up my notebook from two years ago and show you.

EE 1301? I remember Gosney covering that subject, and while I don't remember the exact cost per game (I thought it was more along the lines of $200-$300, but it's been a long time since I took that class), I do remember finding out that it wasn't as expensive as one would think.
