if you think the push back on the "T boone mustangs" was bad wait until you see the Ol Miss faithful "embrace" this new tradition. I would not want to be the first guy who walks out with the bear suit on......

By the way - are there even ANY bears in Mississippi? I mean, why not the sand crabs, or why not just get right down to it and go with the "drunks" - theres lots of them down there.....

To keep with the gulf coast theme going, why not the "fighting Shrimps"? Or they could work with one of the national pharmacies to promote the new mascot, "Crabs". I am sure many students would be able to relate to this one!

The state university of Mississippi is now represented by a Louisiana black bear. Hilariously inept.

I still think General Akbar from Star Wars was perfect. He was a Rebel.

Does anyone else suspect that the student election that chose the Bear was a scam? I mean really, did yall see the other mascots? The "Land Shark?" "Hotty Toddy," the human being? I get the feeling that the school came up with those ridiculous suggestions just to scare some of the students into going along with the least of the three evils.

Ole Miss is a state school. I wonder if the state legislature could do something about this?
