Longest Navy Run from Scrimmage

Postby Stallion » Sat Oct 16, 2010 7:52 pm

except for the 33 yard WR reverse, the longest run from scrimmage was 15 yards. Dobbs longest was 9 yards. Held them to 337 yards Total Offense and only 18 first downs. You would think we would have a great shot-but credit to Navy because they executed well enough to keep moving the ball on 10 play 81 yard drive , 9 play 80 yard drive and 10 play 87 yard drive

They continually did well on first down, and that literally gave them too many options.

It always seems they get 4 downs and its always 4th and short. They exceute and there's not much many teams can do about it

7-14 on 3rd down
3-4 on 4th down

I thought Taylor Reed played very well..sure tackling. He made a particularly impressive open field tackle on Dobbs on the possession that led to our last TD.

It was good to see O'Guin get some reps. He was gassed, but the only way to solve that is reps reps reps.

Hope we can get another 30 lbs or so on Emshoff.

IMHO impressive part about it is athat a 3-4 is predicated on created negative plays and turnovers. We did not create either today but yet the defense still played well enough to win the game.

Taylor Reed was great, but once again when we needed a play Ja'Garad was huge....

Those 2 guys can lay licks, there were moans from the crowd on some of those tackles...not sure how dobbs got back up in the 4th after Ja'Gared [deleted] up...

I'm glad Taylor Reed made so many tackles because he definitely wasn't tackling anyone when he got beat on big pass plays.
