OT: Ohio State- Where's Patton?

Postby htownponyfan » Sun Oct 17, 2010 7:30 pm

Well I guess Ohio State and Terrelle Pryor showed their true colors last night against Wisconsin. I'd like to hear Patton's excuse as to why they blew it yet again. That was a short lived trip as #1.

They only scored 18 points. Wisconsin scored 31. So they lost.

No excuses. They were outplayed. Wisconsin absolutely deserved to win.

Disappointing the Big Ten won't play for the national title, but it's parity in the Big Ten.

Wisconsin at Iowa should be a great game this weekend.

Love the Big Ten. Love it. Love it. Love it.

Buckeyes have a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way; a tough road game at Iowa but otherwise I doubt anyone competes. They get Michigan at home so that's a big plus, not to mention Michigan is not yet ready for prime time. Would like to see them play Mich St, who looks right now like the best the Big 10 has to offer

Michigan State hasn't been 7-0 since 1966, I think.

BTW, htown -- Go ask Nick Saban how EASY it was for them to win at South Carolina last week. Then go ask Steve Spurrier how EASY it was for them at Kentucky after beating Alabama.

Then go ask Mike Reilly how EASY it was for Oregon State to win at Washington.

That's the game.

Yeah that's the game. Ohio State has maybe 2 ranked teams to play all season, and they didn't even look that fired up, no emotion at all. For Saban, it's different when you play Arkansas and Florida before losing to South Carolina. Anytime you play 3 top 20 teams in a row it's got to be tough. OSU played Indiana and Illinois before Wisconsin. I have no bias or reason to favor the SEC, it's just better football.

Oh yeah and Kentucky, they took a pretty solid Auburn team down to the wire and would be a top 4 team in the Big 10.

You only play the teams in front of you and how the schedule is rolled out.

I would submit that they got a pretty solid push AT Illinois and found a way to win.

Whenever you win on the road in your conference -- either at Minnesota, Vanderbilt or Rice -- it's a good win.

We as Pony Fans were pretty jazzed about winning AT Rice.

I'm just giving you a hard time. Football has been crazy, both college and pro, the last few weeks with upsets and what not.

Big 10 will have more credibility once they expand to 12 teams and play a championship game; thie year, either Oho State or Mich St could be conference champ without having played each other. That's just wrong in today's college game.

Big 10 will always be a second tier BCS conference that gets exposed in the biggest games-they don't have the speed to compete with the top teams from the South and/or USC. With USC down they might win some Rose bowls because the other PAC 10 teams don't generrally have elite talent. Nebraska has not had team wide elite talent in about a decade-don't see that changing much.

given that they have gotten to play in so many BCS championships this decade makes me think that they haven't been considered 2nd tier at all, and most definitely overvalued give the whoopin's they've been handed.

Went 2-0 in BCS games last year. I'm just sayin'

Seemed to me Ohio State did just fine against that Oregon speed in the Rose Bowl.

Seemed to me Iowa did just fine against that Georgia Tech speed in the Orange Bowl.

This year:

Seemed to me Ohio State did just fine against that Miami (Fla.) speed earlier this year.

Seemed to me Ohio State did just fine against that Arizona State speed earlier this year.

In spite of the loss (a one-score game decided late in the 4th quarter), seemed to me Iowa did just fine against that Arizona speed.

The only one was a very outmanned Penn State team at Alabama.

But thanks for trying.

I pointed out that Iowa lost, but they were in the game ON THE ROAD. I think in a one-score game, it's really not going to be an issue. I watched that game, and it wasn't.

Everyone kisses the Pac 10 and SEC's [deleted] because of its speed.

Again, thanks for trying.
