CBS-C crawl made my skin crawl

For over THREE HOURS of the SMU-Navy game on CBS College Sports, the news crawl at the bottom of the screen listed NOTHING but players who were suspended or out for the season with injuries. The same ones, over and over.
That's it. No score updates. No Saturday schedules, team records or rankings. Just the same season-ending injuries and suspensions repeated for over three hours! All under the label of "CFB News."
It was beyond pathetic. Tell me it was a technical glitch, and not CBS-C being ultra cheap. It looked like they had someone set it up on Friday so they wouldn't have to pay them to update it on Saturday with real information.

Longtime-You are right on point. Why no other scores? Were they saving them for the sponsored scoring update interruption? The crawl is a great ad space and an easy way to keep current and they just wasted the crawl.

Who?
The no-scores crawl was useless and distracting.
Even worse was the fact that the announcers sounded like a bunch of plebes who just signed up for enrollment at the Naval Academy. Great school and I'm very appreciative of what the school and its graduates do, but it kind of sounded like the announcers were members of the USNA team.

Bleeding Red+Blue: The game was actually part of a Navy TV package on CBS-C. It wasn't part of the C-USA television deal, it was a Navy broadcast, kind of like Notre Dame's deal with NBC (on a much, much smaller scale). Hence the slant toward the Middies.
I wasn't expecting Emmy award-winning stuff on CBS-C. They cut to the Navy cheerleaders just before SMU was about to snap the ball inside the Navy 10. They never had a replay of Justin Smart's critical personal foul. That kind of stuff is to be expected. But the incredibly annoying and non-informative crawl was beyond a low-budget broadcast, it was downright offensive to viewers.

All of the above is true... but what was up with showing the referee's calls from the end zone? Was very difficult to figure out which team he was pointing at on penalty calls. Weirdest production decision I have seen for a football game in a long time.
