SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!Tired of trying to surf through all those threads because you're just not panicked enough and you need a place to go into the fetal position for four days?
Are those sleepless nights about the homecoming game Saturday against Cougar High just making you pull your hair out? But is that hair pulling therpeutic in some creepy kind of way? Fear not. By accessing this thread, you can dump all of your panic thoughts about the Cougar High game here. As always, we start with the standby: * The [insert school name here] game scares me to death. To continue: * Although most posters predicted 2010 records anywhere from 5-7 to 8-4, the sky is now officially falling at 4-3 following the loss to Navy because expectations have not been met. What about that 3-0 CUSA record? Well, just don't worry about that. The sky is still falling. This season is an utter disaster. * WHEN SMU loses to Houston, it will fall to 3-1 in CUSA and won't have the tiebreaker because Houston will win the rest of its games. SMU will be lucky if we can even get to .500 * It doesn't matter that true freshman quarterback David Piland had a shaky game against Rice, he will rebound against us, play well and kick our fannys. We know that because we saw it with Kyle Padron last year. * David Piland is the best quarterback Southlake Carroll has ever produced. What about Greg McElroy winning a national title at Alabama? That doesn't matter. McElroy had a better surrounding cast. * If our ridiculous secondary can give up a 50-yard bomb to bleeping Navy last week, Houston will tear us up. Their OL will be spirited and DEs Taylor Thompson and Margus Hunt won't meet the challenge. * Sooner or later our LBs are going to play crappy. This is that week. Davis, who takes plays offs in some cases, will just be roaming around aimlessly. * We can't cover kickoffs. Why start now? * All those yards Zach Line has rushed for? Reality is setting in now. We need Fields on the Field. But that probably won't work either. * Teams will watch that Navy film to see how we were stopped (254 yards and 3 TDs?) But we got stopped. So we're done. We'll be lucky to complete passes at a clip of 45% for the balance of the season. * Those streetwalker cheerleaders with white boots will be a distraction. The sun will reflect off those boots and blind us. * Those fata$$es in the big white Dusters will tilt the field so our timing will be off. * Their band playing that choo choo train song on kickoffs will negate our ability to return kickoffs. * I fear their air raid horn. Even though it won't be here, I'll mentally be able to hear it. And with that, you're on your own:
Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!Texas Ranger Outfielders only made two Put-outs behind Cliff Lee last nite!!!!

The Headline in today's NY Daily News: PANIC IN THE BRONX!
Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!Congratulations, this is the most tired bit on ponyfans, and that's saying something.

Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!It all makes sense and I love the choo choo train song on kickoffs. The issue is that you need a lot of students to help orchestrate it to full effect. I'm not sure why the choo choo song is accompanied by a Seminole war chop instead of a pulling down motion -- for a steam engine -- but that's beside the point. Need lots of choo choo or it will be a sad day for Cougar fans.
Did some SMU fans really think you'd go 5-7? Wow! I always thought that the west division title went through Ford Stadium. 4-3 is about right at this point but a win at Navy would have been nice and was achieveable.
Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!Once again, I have to agree with George Smith Patton, Houston scares the Hades out of me.
First, Houston is just a bigger city. that alone is intimidating. Houston has played better teams and will be better prepared. The Miss State game was a real lesson. We have played only crummy TCU which everyone knows is as overrated as the Big 10 (+2). Houston’s running game has always slashed and dashed through our defense. Why should this year be any different? Sure Houston has a Fr QB but he is surrounded by the best receiver corp in Texas. They will make plays on his marginal performance and add to that SMU's ability to turn unknown marginal players into Heisman candidates and it just adds up to a blow out. We have no secondary. After last week’s game, Reed will be just too worn out to perform. Line is no longer an effective runner. Navy shut him down in the second half on all 3 of his carries. Padron will be back to his TTU ways, running scared and trying to force things. This week is just too scary for us thumb suckers. And it only gets worse next week against the Mean Green Wave.
Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!Also don't forget JJ lost his playbook and KP will have to try and remember the plays-OMG!!

Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!
Not. Even. Close. Geldings-talk and Crap-I-Have-To-Pay-for-My-Spot-On-the-Boulevard are both WAY more tired than this. This is still actually kinda funny. Stallion doesn't think I'm a stinkin' genius anymore.
Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!Houston has more humidity than Dallas as well. That right there makes me want to sweat this game even more.
Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!we will never win again.
Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!
i was fine with it when we had a "winning streak" to match the panic threads, but now that the superstition is out......
Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!I also heard our jerseys are still abundantly adorned with stripes.
Re: SMU plays Houston. It's 95-21 all over again! PANIC!We have 3 losses so far this year. I think it is about time we get back to "No Expectations".
