Thanks for posting this. I'm going to have to go back and check some of the other SMU related pieces shown in the adjacent index.

Here's a fun one. They really had a different class of musician back then. The things winning can do!

I'd say a real blast from the past!! About ponyte's post: my Dad had 2 "75" recordings of the SMU band---and 2 years ago when we moved, they were mistakingly thrown away. About the halftime performance I felt like I was there. My parents had season tickets, for several years, on the 45 for our games. The band's performance was great---hope we bring back the high-stepping soon!! Thanks for sharing.

I've got a 78 of the Mustang Band under the direction of Cy Barkus doing a Peruna number that is hotter than this video thought about being. From 1927. I'll try and make a recording sometime.

High Stepping is too non-High School for the current director.

There are always mustang band records at the Half Price on NW Hwy for some reason. One time they had like 5 copies of Mustang Jazz vol 1. If I owned a record player I'd snatch some up
