For the genius who said, "Screw SC" in another thread, remember this:

SC is a private university in a large TV market. 16,000 Undergrad to SMU's 6,000. Imagine having 10,000 more SMU students to come to games.

SMU would do well to model themselves after SC.

Fight on, Trojans!!!!

Wow! What a big surprise. Yet another sports writer writing about how the BCS is the worst thing since Adolf Hitler and how wonderful and perfect the world would be if we just had a college football playoff. I think just about every sports "journalist" in America has now beaten this dead horse to death. Can't these guys come up with ANYTHING else to write about.

If you look at this objectively, even today's BCS will do as good a job as the old system ever did in crowning a national champion.

If So Cal wins the Rose Bowl, they will likely share the title with the OU/LSU winner. If they lose, there is only one remaining "one loss" team and that team claims the championship.

Meanwhile, the Rose Bowl gets the match-up they coveted. Back to a classic USC/Michigan. In the old days, we'd have had OU against either FSU or Miami in the Orange Bowl and LSU against either FSU or Miami in the Sugar Bowl. So...what happens if all the "one loss" teams win those games? I guess we have a 3 way tie for national champion?

I agree the BCS has it's flaws, but I will also admits (absent a playoff) it gets us closer than the old bowl system to crowning a true national champion.

Maybe, just maybe, if they write about it enough a playoff will finally happen in D-1 like it does everywhere else in college football!

Charleston Pony, the Trojans will beat michigan. I've seen a lot of teams this year while working all over the place, and Usc is the best. They may have their lapses, but they have a LOT of talent, including a guy named Dallas. (Who I dreamed about SMU getting.)

I'd love to see SMU copy Usc, but it can't happen unless SMU decides to double its student body. I'd love to see our "Heritage Hall" look like SC's. Talk about pride.

All in all, this is just more fodder to shaow what a joke the BCS (or just BS) is really. Plus, I think most folk are afraid of what usc could do to ok or lsu.

Anyway, GO PONIES! And in the future, let's get those guys named Dallas in the future, even if they come from No Cal.

Go Ponies!

(And I was at the usc/oregon st. game. Williams' one handed catch was freakin' awesome.)

I'd like to see 1,000 of our 6,000 show up. And stay for the 2nd half!!!

Is OJ in Heritage hall as a football player or celebrity criminal?

Old Pony, while that gave me a chuckle, I don't think we ought to go throwing stones while living in our glass house.

sc could take oj out, and sc's hall still would be a damn awesome place.

Go Ponies!
