As much as I love the show I have wondered why from day 1 that we are putting our student-athletes on a pedistal. Get rid of the cameras and let them go to school and play football....PERIOD!!! They will get there when its time so screw the hype. This show needs to go NOW in my opinion.

We could take the money that's being spent on the show and hire a better special teams coach..............

"The Climb" is not the problem. Team speed is.

If it's an infomercial, and NOT an oldtime coaches' show, then CAN

Never seen it :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

This week will suck but it's still a good promotional tool for the program.

Nope :!: Never seen it, but it smells sounds like an infomercial :!: :!: :!: :!:

Coaches show would be much better. Like Ron Meyer during the early Mustang Mania days :!: :!:

The Climb is not the problem.
Heck, most people don't even know that it's on TV.

actually Ron Meyer had a show very similiar to this one produced by Bill McAtee. Someone paid for it to be on Channel 8 right after the news. Non traditional is better than the same old coaches highlite show.

Without a doubt it is worth it. It gives every bit of information that you would get from a coach's show but puts it in a reality format. People can like it or hate it but to ridicule it without even seeing it is beyond words.

The Climb isn't the problem or even part of the problem. Rebuilding a moribund program is the problem and it takes more than 2.5 years.

The Climb is a non traditional coaches show. Would Fox and CBS Sports air the June Jones Coach's Show? Maybe, maybe not. But something with a twist and entertainment value is much more sellable to a network that needs programs that make a profit.

A regular Coach's show wouldn't have much appeal at any level beyond die hard SMU fans. A theme reality show with a look inside a program during the year has a broader appeal.

We need to recruit more capable athletes which increase our depth and quality of players more than worry about a TV show.

Best thirty-minute college football show on tv. I am so proud of that production and the positive light it brings to SMU. And to hear the players speak clearly and understandably instead of as if they are from a gang makes me even prouder!
