No, we're not close to that yet. If we want to win C-USA West and make a bowl then Padron is our best shot, he is 7-2 as a starter in C-USA games. Starting McDermott would do more harm than good.

As mad and disappointed as I am, nothing is worse than backup QB talk. If we should be discussing anything right now, it should be a back up defense. Yesterday was embarrassing.

Look, for 20+ years we suffered from the effects of the death penalty. Now we are suffering from the effects of the depth penalty. The depth penalty will be overcome quicker, but it still takes time.

If we get up 30 points on Tulane yes I would like to see JJ for a bit.

KP is the pony that we have to ride this year. Unfortunately he is taking way too much time on his reads and starting to make bad decisions. He needs to quit 'thinking' so much and just play naturally.

GO PONIES!!!

Excellent post, mrydel, and exactly right.

Padron led us to a rout in the Hawaii Bowl and very likely will have the career record for touchdown passes, and with the division (and perhaps conference) title still a possibility, people want to replace him with someone who has taken almost zero meaningful snaps in this offense?

I'm sure McDermott is a talented guy and might be fully capable of running our offense effectively, but the talk of benching Padron is shortsighted, at best.

If Padron continues at this pace, does he start his senior year?

Or will it be this man:

So now we're bypassing Padron, McDermott and Kaiser for a high school senior?

Tap the brakes, everyone. Padron will be just fine.
