On 10-17-2009, SMU lost to Navy.

On 10-24-2009, SMU lost to Houston.

Sound familiar? Yes, we are in a two game losing streak. The last time we experienced a two game losing streak was a year ago to the exact same schools.

A year ago our starting QB went down and the rest of the season was a huge unknown. And we faced a good Tulsa team.

Now we have a better team and face an opponent we can and should beat. Yet none of us feels good. Since that last two game losing streak, we have gone 9-5 including a three game winning streak and the current two game losing streak.

During the summer, JJ said the best athletes in our conference were UAB, UCF and Houston. We are 1-1 against what JJ feels are the best athletic teams in the conference. The season hasn't ended. We in an area we have not experienced as fans since the mid 80s and that is a team that is capable of winning the conference. Just as the team has to learn to win, so too I feel the fans. The good news is we don't hope for perfect games and all the breaks going our way. We expect better from our Ponies and by in large they have 4 games to prove it.

We turned our 2009 season around after a loss to Houston, no reason we can't do the same this season. We have all the pieces in place to win 3 out of our last 4.

Absolutely. Not one remaining game is a guaranteed win, but we are in a position to have a finish similar to the way we finished last year. We can beat any of our remaining opponents, and we can lose to any of our remaining opponents.

But first things first: BEAT TULANE!
