Posted: Sun Oct 24, 2010 7:02 pmi would call the Intercontinental. This is the SMU MC hotel. You might have to stay an extra night - Fri, Sat, Sun to get in there.

They were completely booked when I tried a month ago. Maybe they've had some cancellations since then. Their staff was very nice to work with over the phone.

you can rent people's vacation homes/condos/etc on a daily basis.
we've used it for vacations before. no problems.

Posted: Sun Oct 24, 2010 8:14 pmSee if there's anything in the Garden District. Lots of hotels there, the area is somewhat off the beaten path for tourists (but only a streetcar ride from the Quarter), and it's a tremendous part of New Orleans.
Now, they all might be booked up, too, but I would think Downtown hotels fill up faster than those in the GD.
