A couple thoughts I had after watching this.
I like how June is admitting that the coaching staff as well as players screwed up in this game.
In regards to special teams when asked about giving up the kick return and his response was "well he is one of the best in the game." If he's one of the best then kick the ball away from him. I'm also worried about the disciple of the team with the personal fouls and committing stupid turnovers. Does anything think this maybe a result of the players getting too comfortable around the relaxed environment that June Jones and his staff bring?

Coach Jones is unaggressive and some people take that as weak. We have a bad mentality from the guys on the field. They for some reason think that they are at USC and they are all stars. NEWS FLASH, there are maybe 5 stand outs on the field. One of those being injured and another playing right tackle. None of our receivers should be cocky because they are inconsistent and don't focus in at practice. Matt needs to stop being a punk and just play the game. There is nothing wrong with him. He had a great FG at Tech and since then he has been inconsistent and overly mental. One of these days McKnight will see that and do something about it. McKnight needs to develop his own style and stop trying to be Coach Gansz. No one will ever replace Coach Gansz. Furthermore, not all of the staff is relaxed. Sure, they will talk with you and shoot the breeze, but overall, they will get in your face at practice. Our players have become complacent and expect wins. Taylor Reed goes out and does everything he can to get a win, same with Sterling and JG. But not all of them do. Some are content with just being there and getting a free ride to Hawaii at the end of the season. Every game that we win, we could have easily lost and vice versca. We are inconsistent because of the mentality of the team. They need to understand that it is their fault, not the fault of the coaching staff. Wins don't just come, you have to go earn them. Just ask Mizzou...they beat Oklahoma because they showed up. We failed to show up against Houston and in the second half against Navy. We have to show up from the starting whistle all the way until the very end of the game.

the losing culture has been present for many years. a player several years ago told me that he was amazed that players didn't seem to care if we won or not. i thought we were past that.

It was one game. We played poorly. Was it the weather, the moon phase, who knows? Next.

That all star right tackle got absolutley worked on Saturday.

And then he slugs a guy in the facemask after a minor shove right in front of a ref drawing a 15 yard penalty and keeping a drive going. Be aggressive but be smart and quit being an individualist in a TEAM sport! Too many individuals playing and coaching and not enough team! It is funny that when coaches tell the team this so many players think they are talking about someone else and not themselves!

Could not agree more. Appears that we have a handful of key players that are less concerned with the outcome and more concerned with their personal glory. Too many "superstars" in a sport where the best TEAM wins. Need to get back to the lunchbox players of last year like Chase kennemer...

How often do we see the teams with best talent not win. Superstars...focus on the greater good of the team and lets get back to winnning. This team is collectively too good to suffer losses like the last two.

I couldn't agree more. We need to drop the losing culture and realize that we are a strong team when we work together. The "Allstars" need to get their things together and realize that their success will skyrocket when the team is consistently winning.
