Where does everyone prefer to grab a cold one, or two, when in the French Quarter? Razoo's is always fun when they run the 3 for 1 drink special. Can't wait to hoist a few with a couple of ponyfans in the Big Easy

Razoos is always good for the 3 for 1.

Bourbon House Seafood has a large oyster bar with a few TV's and plenty of beverages.

The Carousel Bar at The Monteleone is a good stop also.

Not saying my favorite but it's different and worth checking out.

Lafitte's Blacksmith Bar: 941 Bourbon

Oldest bar in America? Building built around 1777 - former blacksmith shop

Link list 10 oldest bars - has info on Lafitte's. http://www.sloshspot.com/blog/06-02-200 ... -States-16

No electricity - candles. Believe there is a piano player.

As I recall, it's towards the end of Bourbon (after the main strip of bars/restaurants and you go by
some "transitional" bars., but it smells old, feels old, and you can hit all the usuals later.

I was at the Hotel Intercontinental there back in July. I walked across the street to the Luke Restaurant and bellied up to the bar. Me and my buddies just started asking the bartender to make us random drinks, and he was by far the best bartender I have ever seen. He came up with all sorts of stuff, and all you had to do was give him the base liquor you wanted to drink.

Can't for the life of me remember his name, but he was in his late 20's, kind of a dorky looking dude with black hair.

Luke's bar is a good one with some fresh seafood apps.

They also have a Buster Crab sandwich that is a favorite of the locals.

Get a Bloody Mary at Pirates Alley Bar and Grill and a dozen on the half shell at Felix's.

Had that sandwich, too, and it was really good.

A burger and a beer at Port-o-Call is hard to beat. A little off the Quarter and out of the humdrum a bit. One of my favorites.

Jean Lafitte's is a cool place, too. And I love taking in some music at Tipitina's or Pat-O's.

I'll be hopping around town all weekend. Staying at the Ambassador Hotel between the Superdome and the Quarter. Hope to see some Ponyfans around.

Everyone beat me to the punch on recommending napoleon house. Be sure to drop by the Tropical Isle and pick up a hand grenade.

Try Coop's Place if you're down by the French Marker at all. Kind of a dive bar, but great food.
