SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011From SMUMustangs.com:
SMU To Face Demons In 2011 Mustangs To Host Northwestern State Oct. 27, 2010 DALLAS (SMU) - SMU and Northwestern State will face off on Sept. 17, 2011, the two schools announced today. With the game signed, SMU's 2011 opponents are finalized. SMU's 2011 schedule will now consist of home games against Navy, Northwestern State, Rice, Tulane, UCF and UTEP, and road games at Houston, Memphis, Southern Miss, Texas A&M (Sept. 3), TCU (Oct. 1) and Tulsa. Conference USA game dates will be set next spring. The opportunity for the Mustang-Demon game arose after SMU and Baylor agreed to drop their 2011 game due to the new nine-game Big 12 schedule. Northwestern State is coached by former Mustang letterwinner and alumnus Bradley Dale Peveto. Peveto, who is in his second season at NSU, played from 1982-86 at SMU, where he was a safety, special teams star and team captain while the Mustangs went 43-14. Future SMU schedules through 2016 are available here. For tickets to all SMU Athletic events, call the SMU Ticket Office at 214-SMU-GAME (214-768-4263). Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011maybe one of the worst if not the worst home schedules ever from an attendance standpoint. Navy and UTEP are the only game which from a historical perspective would likely draw 20,000+ Its going to be difficult to average 20,000 per game

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011What the fork?
"Fork 'em" is a hand gesture and slogan used by students at Northwestern State University in their celebration of sports teams. The gesture is performed by curling the ring and middle fingers under the thumb against the palm, and extending the pinky and index fingers – identical in fashion to the University of Texas "Hook 'em Horns" gesture.
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011On the bright side, the road schedule is quite strong!
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011
My first thought as well. You have to hope UTEP is having a good year, because they can bring a decent crowd and Navy should have good attendance as usual. Other than that, very slim picking with NWST, Rice and Tulane. Not to mention the CUSA East school. #NewLobCity
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011Cool! When was the last time we played a Big Ten school?
Shake It Off Moody
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011better start promoting now and giving away tickets for those games with NWS, Rice, Tulane and UCF
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011never heard of them. had to look them up. just embarrassing.
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011SMU has sent some guys to NW State through the years...started with the Texas Top 100 QB who didn't translate to Division I-FBS talent (Meeks?)
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011Hopefully we've bought a win and not made a horrible mistake. Anyone know anything about the NSU program?
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011didn't they beat TCU several years back in what was a stunning upset at the time?
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011Seems we always struggle against the Southland Conf.
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011funny, but i have three really good friends from NW State. We always kidded about an SMU-NWS matchup.
Derail the Frogs!
Re: SMU to host Northwestern State in 2011I predict lots of attendance threads during the 2011 season.
