ABCModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower ABCAlmost exactly 24 hours ago, I was informed that the American Broadcasting Company - yes the network that brought you Monday Night Football, Nightline, Wide World of Sports, Happy Days, Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, My So-Called Life, Thirtysomething, The Love Boat, Dynasty, MacGuyver, The Commish, Lost, etc., etc. - will be broadcasting Pony Excess the Saturday following it's ESPN premiere!
Saturday, December 18th - ABC will be airing Pony Excess from 3-5 in the afternoon. Love it. When was the last time you could turn on one of the big three networks and see "SMU football" on a Saturday afternoon? 1984? ... yep, I know it premieres the week prior on ESPN after the Heisman (and that's more cool than I can say, as we are also the series finale), but to think that we will be on AB-frickin'-C!?!?!? Awesome. And there is also something else at play here - WFAA is likely to promote the ever-lovin' poop out of this thing. (Again, it's not all candy and snow angels... no punches are pulled... but this is huge! This is great for us. I promise you will only be angry about this movie if you are dead set on being angry. It's an emotional roller-coaster. But it's one helluva' ride with a storybook finish. And it's going to be on ESPN right after the Heisman and then a week later on AB-effin'-C!!!!) ![]() Eric Dickerson in Pony Excess "I've love winning man, it's like better than losing." - Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh
Re: ABC
Anyone who is angered by the truth is part of the problem. Rock on Thaddeus. I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Re: ABCIt allows us to segue from the past death penalty to the current depth penalty. Congrats Thad. My hopes for you are that things just keep getting better.
BTW. I had hoped to see you last weekend, but flight delays allowed for ne to barely make it for kickoff. Hopefully next time. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: ABCWe really need to quit crying about the death penalty and embrace it.
Just like embracing the wealthy stereotype and modifying it slightly can appeal to all the ghetto platinum teeth gold chain "cash money" rapper types, embracing the death penalty can tie into the money gimmick AND add an outlaw element. We've appealed exclusively to the park cities, Plano, Frisco, and Allen long enough. It's time to bring in fans from the lower classes and the athletes that come with them! "I think Couchem is right."

Re: ABC
I dont think SMU has much of a presence whatsoever in Plano/Frisco/Allen.
Re: ABCMost of us who lived through the 70's and 80's with SMU, know what was going on. And we were the baddest of the bad boys on the block. Yes, others were doing the same thing, but.... Sort of like the serial killer who complains about receiving the death penalty because another serial killer only got life with parole. As most of us know, the death penalty was terrible, but it was many of the "reforms" after the penalty that hampered our football program for decades. We are now turning the corner, but like the old house that's been neglected for decades, you need more than a fresh coat of paint to make it habitable. You need to pretty much rebuild it. We've got the new kitchen in, and its painted, and we've shored up some of the walls. The roof still leaks now and then and the heater works when it wants to. But its getting close to livable. Is that cliche enough?
