Boys/Girls --- what has to happen for us to host the game on Dec 4 weekend?

- SMU must win out
- Houston must lose one more conf game
- UCF has to lose one conf game

Then I assume it comes down to overall record between us and UCF?

If someone knows for sure --- let us know!!!

What am I missing?

GO PONIES!!!

You're missing the point that SMU will be in Hawaii for the Sheraton Bowl, see you all in December, Aloha!

I guarantee one of those three will happen. I can even tell you when. This Friday. (UCF vs UH)
However, I am most concerned with SMU winning out. Start by beating UTEP.

- SMU must win out - TRUE
- Houston must lose one more conf game - TRUE
- UCF has to lose one conf game - TRUE, sort of. Would be nice if they lost twice

Then I assume it comes down to overall record between us and UCF? - False

The format to decide who hosts goes as follows:

- Conf. record

- Head to head record

- The next tiebraker would be BCS ranking. Curently UCF is 32, SMU is not in the top 45.

Yes, but assuming SMU wins out and UCF loses another game, what will the relative BCS rank be??

That's a good question. I can't find SMU's BCS ranking, but I remember seeing it in the 60's sort of recently?

They played South Dakota, NC State (L), Buffalo, K State (L) for their OOC games, so there is a chance we could pass them if they lose multiple games and we win the rest of ours. It would help us if Navy, and Tech win out as well.
