Not to look too far ahead, but what happens if we win the next 3 games, but lose in the CUSA championship game? Where would we go? Would we be a definite Hawaii Bowl?
I know there are some other options people have been projecting, but doesn't Hawaii have a pretty high pick in the cusa bowl list? And i can't imagine they wouldn't want smu to return if they had the choice.

I found this on the internet:
• #1 The Liberty Bowl receives the first choice of C-USA teams, though it is not required to take the C-USA champion.
• #2 The Hawaiʻi Bowl will have the second choice of C-USA teams for the 2009-10 bowl season.
• #3 The Armed Forces Bowl receives the third choice of C-USA teams.
• #4 The Beef 'O' Bradys Bowl receives the fourth choice of C-USA teams. St Petersburg
• #5 The New Orleans Bowl receives the fifth choice of C-USA teams.
• #6 The Military Bowl will receive the sixth choice of C-USA teams if Army is not bowl-eligible.
• #7 The Texas Bowl will receive the seventh choice of C-USA teams if the Big 12 is unable to provide a bowl-eligible team.
I recall reading that other C-USA teams would want their turn to go to Hawaii. I believe the conference pays all travel expenses for school executive employees, band, cheer squads, hence why SMU brought the whole gang. Thus other schools would like the same.

Personally, I wouldn't mind going back to Hawai'i. There were a few places we didn't make it to last year. I would also take the clubs and get in a couple of days of golf this go 'round.

If the conference pays all travel expenses.. that's new. Don't you all remember last year about SMU Band and Cheer needing money for the travel - including Peruna too? If that was the case, Nevada's Band would have been there too.. and they weren't were they?

The conference pays all travel expenses for all bowls other than Hawaii. SMU had to come up with the money to send band, cheer squads, Peruna, and the OSU Cowboys to Hawaii last year.
Armed Forces is most likely this year, unless spot in Dallas Classic falls to CUSA.

Looks like Army will be eligible so the Armed services bowl may not be an option.

I believe the C-USA bid is guaranteed for the Armed Forces Bowl so that's still an option for us. If the MWC can't fulfill their commitment then a bowl-eligible Army would get their bid.

Correct-at least that is what every source I've read said. Plus Army has to be bowl eligible BEFORE the Navy game. They play a weak opponent though next.

At this point I would be more than content with playing Army at Ford in the Armed Forces Bowl

If we don't stop the crappy play we've been displaying the only bowl we'll see is the toilet bowl.
Too many excuses- to few people willing to step up and take responsibility.
GO PONIES!!!
