With Matt out tonight, Marcelo Sada takes over kickoffs, fieldgoals and hopefully a lot of extra point duties. I hope we don't lift Mike Loftus redshirt. Matt Stone will handle punt duties, hopefully we won't see him much, but he did punt once last week. BEAT UTEP!!!

I find that ridiculous that we can't find someone who can kick it into the end zone on a routine basis.

I'm normally all in favor of preserving red-shirts, but with Matt out so much, and the importance of the kicking game, AND with the conference championship in sight, I hope they put the best player out there regardless of class status.

I agree. If Loftus is a clear improvement over the alternatives then I hope he plays. Somehow I think we would be able to find a kicker in the next 3 years before he uses up his eligibility. It is not like we are talking about giving up a full 4th year of play for a QB or other position player - this is a kicker.

On the other hand, given his greyshirt last year and potential redshirt this year, I am pretty jealous of his potential 6 years in college.
