November is for Contenders!...and SMU isn't one!

Postby George S. Patton » Sat Nov 06, 2010 11:52 am

Starting tonight in El Paso, we're going to find out if the SMU Mustangs are willing to embrace this opportunity and either become a championship-program in the making or if they are satisfied at just being a bowl eligible/bowl contending type of program.

It's up to them.

What are they willing to do to make it happen?

If this game tonight doesn't motivate these players at SMU, I don't know what will. This game is now THE most important game of the year...IMHO. They need to come out from the opening kick off and keep the pressure on UTEP......stomp on em.

Are we the "new" Mustangs...or the Mustangs of old? I hope the "new". We shall see in El Paso tonight.
Long live Inez Perez!

They were heartless against Houston, so that can't happen again unless they want that reputation! It's fine if they lose, but they better show up and play with a fire. The second half against Navy, The Houston game, and the first half against Tulane were all embarrassing. I can accept losing if the effort is there, as building a program is a process, but the way they played those games it will be difficult to build a fan base. Just show up and winning will take care of itself.

I hope the 4th quarter team from the Tulane game shows up. That was fun to watch and the most intense the team has looked in a while.

Apparently like the team, I fell asleep in the third quarter and just woke up, checked the score and just shrugged my shoulders.

This thing was over at 14-0.

I wouldn't make any plans for December, folks. Tulane may have been the last hurrah.

So you're saying the "panic" was founded?
