you guys make me sick. a bunch of know-nothing blow-hards.
look at june's record in his second year at hawaii. i guess they were calling for his head then because the game had passed him by.

when we lost sterling it was a tremendous blow. anyone who knows anything about football and specifically this team knows that.

padron had good stats against utep. no ints or fumbles. you guys are are pointing fingers at the wrong guy. what a bunch of clueless knee-jerkers.

we will beat marshall and be bowl eligible. you crybabies can then shut up.

Thanks June. I'm not calling for your firing, but I'm tired of everyone treating you like a Messiah. Stop posting on here and fix your offense and the stupid penalties. Put up all the pretty stats you want, but I'd settle for 30+ points a game like you're supposed to deliver.

june is one of the best coaches in america. what a bunch of unappreciative so-called fans.
he is working with a very thin group. we don't have the backups to replace someone like sterling.
you will love june after marshall.
now go back to sucking your thumbs.
man up pony fans. act like you have some class.

I'm sorry, you're not June, you must be Reinbold or McKnight. I don't want to fire your buddy, I just want him to start earning his paycheck. Injuries happen. It's funny that all the teams that are beating us are teams that suffered worse injuries than us. Stop using injuries as a cruch and win some games.

Except that just being bowl eligible probably won't get the deal done. We'll probably need to turn around and beat East Carolina on the road to get an invite.

The difference in this game, IMHO, was Mike Price going for it on 4th and 5. That turned into 7. On fourth and short, rather than going for it with a running back who averages 7-ish ypc, we punt and UTEP marches for another 7.

Moore's loss is huge, but it wasn't the only difference maker in this game. A couple of bad calls (by both coaches and refs) and a bunch of stupid penalties were more damaging.

Nacho;

We have found something on which we agree. My only question is June's unwillingness to try other players at positions. I realize he knows the players and their abilities and that the offense is technical in nature but I would like to see some of the young receivers to get some chances and let's go ahead and throw Parks back out there at CB. Seems like if a kid makes one mistake (Parks/Acker) that they never see the field again. At QB I can certainly see some hesitation in changing but with receivers and defense seems that some new looks could be warranted.

All that said, I did not make a preseason prediction but in reading those that did, we are pretty much in line with most including the specific games we would lose. Let us just hope for a Marshall win and then carry it on to ECU. Remember that last year without a few breaks we could have very well had a losing season. No one is more anxious than I to win. I am getting too old to have to wait much longer, but we are shallow in depth and weak at many positions. We need to keep building.

beating ECU at ECU would be huge for us, but let's worry about getting past Marshall. They have Memphis in Huntington next week so I expect them to win that one and come into Ford with a lot of confidence...not to mention a determination to get 6 wins and become bowl eligible themselves.

we are pretty much where most people expected we would be right now. For those who thought we would go to El Paso and have no trouble with the Miners...have you forgotten how we had to "hold on" to escape with a win against them last year at Ford?

aside from one poster, no one on here is calling for JJ to go. JJ is our last and only chance.

That said, such a reality does not make JJ or any coach free from any discussion regarding the team's play.

Injuries, youth, whatever or not...this team did not play in the first quarter and a half. The last drive of the first half and entire second half of Navy this team folded its tent. An outmanned and injury depleted Houston team overcame adversity and laid the smack down on the road and rose to the occasion while our team, facing similar adversity and injuries, folded.

Injuries are part of football. Admittedly, the injury problem wouldnt be so glaring had some classroom responsibilities been taken care of. That said, athletes are recruited to come play. Next man up. Explanations dont excuse and excuses never explain.

I basically agree with you RGV, but this team was horridly bad when Jones got here and I think we are perhaps a little to anxious for a quick fix. And last years success certainly did not slow that desire. Yes, injuries happen to every team but it is having adequate personnel to replace the injured that is our shortcoming. No excuses, just facts. And please do not confuse my statements with satisfaction with the situation or acceptance of the apparently lack of urgency and fire since half time of Navy.

And I basically agree w/both RGV and mrydel. I have said, along with others, that we are young, no depth, etc., but the last few games were just inexcusable. While I can handle---a little better---a loss to the better team I am so frustrated and MAD that we are just not even competing. Looking un-coached and not interested in being on the field is not an option. The coaches and the players need to get their stuff together and it needs to be done now. I wouldn't be so frustrated if I continued to see growth but can't say I've seen it lately!

mrydel, like you, I am too old to have much patience. JJ has been a great asset to this team and the school. However, my biggest complaint the last few games (Navy, Tulane and UTEP) is that this team shows no fire or intensity. It almost looks like they expect to be handed the win. Sadly, the coaches have given little opportunity to other players to see how they might perform under game conditions. IMO the coaches need to make some personnel changes or do something to wake up some of these players who are greatly underperforming.

GO PONIES!!!
