And when that happens - SMU controls their own destiny in CUSA.
Not sure how all of you are losing sight of the fact that there is still a very strong possibility that two more wins will win CUSA west for SMU.
Marshall at home after a bye week should be a W and ECU has been exposed big time by Navy. Line should have a field day against the Pirates.

Do not know for sure that we would control our own destiny with a 3 way tie at the top. But none of that matters until we get past Marshall.

heck I more win maybe good enought to tie for this awful Division. I'd say there is a pretty decent chance there is a 3 way tie for first with each team with 3 losses. Here you take it-no I don't want it.

We controlled our destiny before the UTEP game and showed that we didn't care if we won or not.
I hope JJ cuts some of the slackers at the end of this season. I would rather go with those that want to win and are willing to fight to do so.
GO PONIES!!!

ECU may have been exposed against Navy but we don't run the triple option so we can't really expose them in the same way. If the offense doesn't come out the gate firing then we'll lose that one.

SMU controlled its own destiny at Marshall last year too.

Yeah, on the road. They were a better team then, too.
We're beating Marshall.
Let's say we split the last two games and go 6-6, and don't go to the C-USA championship game. Somehow I just have a got feeling some bowl will invite us, either because of their interest in Coach Jones, the media talk around our team in the first part of the season, or some other reason. I don't know — call it a hunch. Just my gut feeling.

Tulsa will probably end up 9-3 overall and win the west. They are on a roll and playing better than the rest.

In order for Tulsa to win the West - they need for us to lose.

True, but pretty much everyone is counting the ECU game as a loss for us.

Yes they did, I watched a lot of that game and ECU had no clue how to stop the triple option and turned the ball over several times in their own end. Unfortunately we don't run the triple option or force turnovers so we really can't expect to beat ECU like Navy did. I expect Davis and Harris to have career games against us in the finale, it'll get ugly so hopefully we're already bowl eligible by then.

but I have heard reports that ECU is riddled with injuries on defense-so that is a consideration. Anyone know the extent of injury to ECU's Superstar Receiver?

Yeah, that's gonna make a huge difference - injuries to the best players on teams we've played has really helped us thus far.
