Aldrick Robinson

Sorry to interrupt the predictions of the end of the world, but it seems to me that it's worth noting what Al Robinson is doing.

If his career ended today, he would have 166 catches — fifth-best in SMU history behind Emmanuel Sanders, Jason Wolf, Mick Rossley and Emanuel Tolbert. That's some pretty strong company.

He also has 3,007 career receiving yards, trailing only Sanders. That's even more impressive.

With yesterday's touchdown catch, he has 26 in his career — also trailing only Sanders.

This year, he has 50 catches for 994 yards (19.9 yards per catch) and 10 touchdowns. Even without the possibility of one or two postseason games, that translates to a season of 60 receptions (with would be tied for 10th in school history) and 1,193 yards (which would be the second-best single-season total in school history). He also would have 12 touchdowns, which would break the single-season record of 11 ... that he shares with Tolbert.

Time to realize just how good this guy has been.

Great stats and no question he has speed, but can you tell me how many balls he has dropped.

I remember Bob Hayes used to drop a lot but made up for it many times over.

I liked AR being on kick return.
First signs of life back there in a while this season.

would you rather him drop a few of half-a$$ it a la Randy Moss every other play?

i can handle a few drops if he's giving maximum effort, which he is.

Al is one of the best.

It's a beautiful sight to see him reel one in, open in the secondary, and then turn on the afterburners.

We will miss Aldrick Robinson next year like we are missing Emmanuel Sanders this year. I just pray that Terrence Wilkerson makes it back, and that a couple of the young receivers can step it up. Otherwise, we better have at least 1 solid JUCO receiver in this upcoming class.

at this point, who would we project as our outside receivers next year?

He is a playmaker -- too bad we don't have a few more in this terrible O
I can't imagine how bad this would be w/out him.
