Postby MiMiguys » Sun Nov 07, 2010 8:20 pm

[b]It has been a while since I have been on , but still Love the Mustangs. I wanted to share this especially with the younger croud that most have no idea where SMU got their wide spread or the history on the Coaches of the past. I am refering to Rusty Russell. If you want Inspiration, Please read all about him, ' his Bio,and the 12 Mighty Orphans of Ft. Worth Freemasons Home during the late 20"s,30's and 40's.50's " The Mighty Mites ,who ruled Texas. If You Really Love Football You will Enjoy This. God Bless You All.

MiMiguys... we miss you. I have become, I would say "good", but "good enough" to say "friends" with Bobby... cool to see him out at the games. Both of your grandkids (at least I think I recall that you are the grandmother) did great things on the field for our Stangs. I wish that they both, like many of the parade of Mustangs who went through here for 20-some-odd years, could have been on last year's team to enjoy the finality of bringing the Ponies back and in a bowl game.

Yes, I am the the Grandmother with the red hat. Ha I also wish that my guys and the other greats in the past that and should of been in a Bowl. But I am happy for these Mustangs and wish them well. I can honestly say those years my guys were there was exciting. But it is not over. Vincent signed contract with Tulsa to play Arena Football, spring practice starts in Feb. Bobby will be in this area, have not got all the info. yet. So they have not got football out of their system. My thoughts was "Go for it while your young and injoy."
Thank You, You have always been so kind and thoughtful. It will take a few years but I have 2 more that will be playing college Football.
By the way Bobby, Vincent and Folks have season tickets and are a the Games.

One of the best memories I have in my short time as a season ticketholder is of Bobby Chase pulling down that pass to beat UAB in the waning seconds of the game. Both Bobby and Vincent poured their hearts out for our school, and we certainly enjoyed watching them.

Hasn't this book been made into a Movie to be released soon?
Here's the link I read about the movie

Thank You Big Hoss, That was EXCITING to watch Bobby Catch that Ball.
Thank You Stallion, Yes,that is what I understand. I saw a documentary on KERA the other night on the Mighty 12 Orphans. Really got my attention in the middle of night, got on the computer and pulled up everything on them and Rusty Russell. Also when your on that site click on their story and especially the blog. I really think that I will get the book for each of my grandsons, that love football.

Snaps to Jimmy D. for writing another great book, being red & blue, and aspiring to be a better shade of pink and blue.
