De'Von Bailey

Postby davidpaul123 » Mon Nov 08, 2010 8:39 am

I remember reading that he was making a comeback and was around in the spring.

What ever happened to him?

Suffered a bad concussion I believe. As a result, probably won't be back on the football field.

that was Derrius Bell. I don't think they renewed Bailey's scholarship after he was dismissed and walked-on last spring. Too expensive for him to continue as walk-on.

Yeah thats the last I heard. I know June had him playing WR but wasnt he a corner under Bennet? Gotta figure he could have been of service in that capacity considering where we are now...

De'Von was a Wideout/Safety in high school. He came out here and played Safety under Bennet, and didn't adjust well to the new coaching staff (nice spin!). They dumped his Scholie, and he fought back to get in as a walk on, but (as Stallion mentioned) wasn't able to swing it without more financial Aid.

I liked the kid, I had really hoped to see him out here this year.
