Watching the UH/Tulsa game last night, when the Cougs scored, they played a siren sound effect. Same thing at UTEP last night. Both were extremely annoying! Are these new ways of celebrating for them, or have they been around a few years and I am just now noticing them?

Oh, and the Houston band playing the train horn thing before kickoffs.....um, last time I checked, the only train horn having to do with Cougars was the kiddie train at a zoo. Also very annoying.

The Houston siren has been around since they had the "Air Raid" offense under Pardee/Jenkins. I don't know when the UTEP one started.

The Houston band train horn thing is also an old tradition, but very, very annoying.

Well, at least the use of the Houston siren has some basis that makes sense, even if it is annoying. But good to know that Houston has been annoying for quite a while, I guess.

Not as annoying as the extremely loud ship horn that is blasted constantly at Navy games at Annapolis.

The sirens at the coog games are to make them feel more at home.

Sirens at UTEP game may be police sirens.........
