The Annual West Virginia Joke Contest

As many of you know, most Virginians view West Virginians about the same way that Texans view Arkansans. We think Appalachia, you think Ozarks. But generally speaking the idea is the same. For example, a West Virginian came home and announced that he was marrying his true love and that she was a virgin. His dad said, "no Weddin, if she ain't good enough fer her kin, she ain't good enough for you." So, this is your chance to recycle those Arkansan jokes without offending myrdel.

In West Virginia, Roadkill may be taken home for supper. It is the land of 3.5 million people and 12 last names.

A family moved from West Virginia to Virginia.

A Man picks up his son from his first day of school, the son has a huge smile on his face. The man asks his son "Did you have a good day at school?" The son says "Yes daddy we did numbers in school today, I could count all the way to 100 and some of those kids couldn't count to 10." Dad replies "Well son that is because we are from West Virginia we are smart."

Second day another big smile. Son says "Daddy today we did letters, I could do them backwards and forwards some of those kids couldn't even do them forward." Dad reiterates "Son that is because we are from West Virginia, we are smart."

Third day huge smile. "Daddy, we were in the bathroom today and my thingy is twice as big as any of those kids. Is that because we are from West Virginia?" Dad: "No son, that is because you are 17 years old."

On a more truthful note, I loved the trip to Marshall last year extremely nice and hospitable fans.

I agree. Despite our loss, I had a very pleasant experience at Marshall last year (especially compared to the incredibly rude fans I encountered at Navy this year), so I am opting out of the WV jokes. Go Ponys!

this has been the consensus both from people on the board and people I've talked to. I'll go back to Huntington. Don't think I will to Annapolis. Sucks we switch to the other half of the East next season. By the time we're due to be back in Huntington, who knows what conference(s) each team will be in.

Did you hear about the fire at the West Virginia Governor's mansion?

It burned all the way down to the wheels.

Garner at home in Charleston WV. But hey ...she was born in Texas!

Actually Garner spends a lot of time at home in the Mountain State.
She visits family in the Charleston area on a regular basis.
She and Ben Aflec are seen occassionally around Charleston where they aren't bothered by fans and media.
Ben has been photographed wearing a WV Power (Charleston minor league baseball) cap in Hollywood.
Both have recently been back to WV for fundraisers at University of Charleston and The Greenbrier "America's Resort".

All this doesn't mean we don't have our share of hiiljacks freeloading off the government. But if you've ever spent any time here you'd understand that it's a great place to live and raise a family.

Besides, COAL KEEPS THE LIGHTS ON!

We'll be watching. Coal keeps the TV's on.

We'll keep it coming if Obama will step out of the way.
