Bryan McCann named NFC Defensive Player of the Week

Bryan McCann's 101-yard interception return for a touchdown against the New York Giants was good enough for him to be named the NFC's Defensive Player of the Week.

McCann, who was playing in only the second game of his career, stepped in front of an Eli Manning slant pass to Hakeem Nicks and raced in for the Cowboys' first defensive touchdown of the year in the second quarter of Sunday's 33-20 win.

McCann also had five tackles, including one for a loss and a pass breakup as he filled in at different times for an injured Terence Newman and Mike Jenkins.

McCann is the second Cowboy to earn the award this year. DeMarcus Ware won the honor in Week 3.
