Looks like Hawaii is also jumping ship. The WAC looks like it is done for...

Agreed to move, but haven't officially finalized the specifics:

Guess no Houston to MWC, and that CU is prob gone, otherwise they wouldn't be so aggresive to expand...

Good Move for Hawaii, although they prob should be independent...

So SMU, UH, and LA Tech to the MWC too?

I think Stallion's other thread quoting a different board seems more plausible. MWC adds one more, UTEP, to get to 12. La Tech comes to CUSA, watering down our conference even more.

Then, if TCU leaves to BE...then what?

The MWC commish has done a helluva job keeping his conference alive/desirable. They were almost dead in the summer when BYU was going to WAC in other sports. Now he has killed off the WAC, and going to weaken CUSA by taking UTEP (us adding LA Tech) and then taking UH when/if TCU bolts.

Will they consider SMU as a replacement for TCU? Would we desire that?

Lets get the merge to occur...get espn involved and do best of the rest tourney for final BCS spot...MWC Vs. CUSA...

If we can manage that and partake in the BCS revenue system, we may just put ourselves in a better position than TCU...with local rivals and a chance to play BCS game just like them every year...

Also, it satisfies a lot of demand for playoff system...

So, is TCU going to vote to admit another team to a conference when its bags are packed to leave?

I think TCU has already informed the MWC that they are leaving. The MWC is reacting to something just like they did when Utah left and they added Nevada and Fresno. Why would a conference want to go to 11 teams. I think there is going to be some more movement

Those divisions with Houston joining look pretty good. I assume CUSA would have to look at La Tech as the most likely replacement for Houston, because Hawaii leaving on top of Boise, Nevada and Fresno basically kills the WAC

The President of UH is saying its going to happen. This is a huge save for Hawaii if this really happens for them.
