Stallion has issues with terms of endearment.

If ND is in discussions re: that deal to the BE, it could very well likely be that it is an intended ploy to get the Big10 to increase their offer to ND. ND has always been about their football prestige, it seems that becoming a football member of the BE would be a huge step backwards and becoming a football member of the Big10 would not be such a step backwards and would arguable be an improvement.
Also the notations to what Brian Kelly wants from the WV thread is doubtful as Kelly has been under a fair amount of criticism about the death of the camera man and the teams record. I doubt ND is closely listening to the wishes of Kelly at this time.

Bingo...
ND has open invite to Big 10, and they will make more money than that swetheart deal by heading that way...
TCU may be on their way over there, but ND is not...
However it could be the start of a new spinoff bball league if TCU really is going all sports...
Depaul, ND, Gtown, ect..

Another vaunted message board rumor. Let's all start going on to all these message boards and post that we heard from some higher up at SMU who gives lots of $$$$ that an invite to the ACC is imminent for SMU/Rice. Both schools have the academic street cred to be welcomed by the ACC and would expand the ACC into recruit rich Texas. If nothing else, we can see how long it takes for some paper to pick it up and ask the ACC Commissioner to deny it.

If the Big East could pull it off, I bet they'd like to have 4 more football only members and would besides the obvious in ND, I can see benefits in adding TCU, UCF and either Navy or Memphis
I really think the TCU to MVC for all other sports makes sense. That's a pretty good hoops league and certainly a better geographic fit for non-revenue sports. UCF increases Big East football presence in talent rich Florida and UCF could possibly go back to American Sun (old TransAmerica they were once a part of) for other sports. I think Navy is the best fit for a 12th football member, but if Memphis could bring the Liberty Bowl...might give them a shot. Not sure where Memphis' other sports would play, but bball would probably be able to schedule a lot of Big East schools so they would benefit from that.
Let it happen as far as I'm concerned. We just need to get "better looking" to see what might happen down the road. Need to keep the momentum in football and get this hoops program back up and running. Until we win in both football/bball and find a way to pack Ford & Moody, we aren't going to be attractive to anyone
