wow, so our PROGRAM is 49 wins ahead of JOE PATERNO.

I don't think any stats that occured during the Pye or Copeland years should count towards SMU's record.
Attribute those to Southern Methodist College of Liberal Arts, in Dallas, Conneticut. A UNIVERSITY in Texas at least tries to make an effort at Football. Thus, no effort, we aren't a University.
