Just said on ESPN that he completely agrees with the Ohio St prez....school like TCU and Boise shouldn't get the same respect and opportunities that big-time conferences schools who have to play very good teams every week......way to help your alma mater's fight, Craig

LOve how he says TCU Boise couldn't compete against Ohio State and the SEC but nothing about the Big East and ACC. If TCU was part of the Big East and undefeated, would there be any debate about them deserving a shot at the National Championship?

Craig has bought into the BSC canard that the BSC conferences are so dominate that no other school can complete. And as long as he believes the Cartel that functions as a monopoly's prevarications about superiority, then we can expect nothing other than the an elitism attitude from him.

I agree, ponyte. The MWC is just as competitive as the Big East and ACC but James did say that TCU might very well beat Ohio St if they played right now but he said it is not fair that Ohio St has to play good teams each week in the Big 10 and that TCU doesn't in the MWC.

My argument against that logic is that TCU or Boise would join any one of the BSC conferences in a heartbeat if given the chance....you can't penalize them because they don't have the option.

Fact is TCU is either 5-1 or 6-0 against BIG TEN schools in the last decade. Actually I hope, if TCU does not make it to the National Championship game, that they get a chance to play Ohio State in a BCS game.

Surprised nobody chose to bring up the ACC and Big East during that conversation - would have blown a hole in that argument big enough for Eric Dickerson to run through.

Heck, big enough for William "The Refrigerator" Perry to run through untouched!

Disagree....there was a lot of debate last year whether Cincy proved worthy if given the opportunity....How did that work out for them?

Craig James is a POS. That's the maximum amount of time and effort I will spend discussing this...individual. Life's too short.

Craig's employer believes it benefits from the BCS system. They own 6 or 7 bowls. ESPN believes a playoff would relegate their bowls to a backseat to the playoff games. ESPN would have to pay a lot of money to get the TV rights for playoff games. So, bottom line Craig may only be following the company line. On the other hand he may .....

Well I guess we are even because I think there are an unusually high percentage of SMU fans who are kiss-asses and dumbasses and did not know and wouldn't know what was required to build a strong football program if it bite them in the [deleted]. I'm pretty sure if we had more people listening to Craig James rather than supporting and actually buying into the incredible stupidity and utter nonsense spread by Ken Pye, Doug Single and Jim Copeland that we wouldn't have been the most pathetic program in the country for two decades. Craig James on the other hand, the most important SMU recruit in the last 65 years. I have no problem with people disagreeing with his comments-what I have a problem with are SMU fans making the disparaging shots at him we have all seen on this board. It really is pathetic when so many alleged SMU fans come on our own board and lower themselves to cursing or taking personal shots at a guy who meant so much to this program. Loyal SMU fans yeah-well you suck. I take great solace in knowing I was one of the few on this board who stood up to the same hypocrites who similiarly used to take shots at Eric Dickerson.

I would say Doak Walker was the most important reruit in the last 65 years. And Jerry LeVias would be a close second. But that is just an opinion.
Craig has an opinion that some of us disagree with. That has nothing to so with his playing days at SMU.

I will agree that sometimes having a different opinion makes one look a tad foolish. I know when my wife and I have a difference of opinion, I usually end up being the dumb @ss and have to kiss-@ss.

Wow, I'm glad we can finally put that one rumor to rest... he's not running for public office!
