If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?I know there has been speculation about the Armed Forces Bowl in our stadium (

Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?If you lose, you stay home and play the AFB. No costs.
Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?
Honestly I think it's AFB no matter what. SEC probably blocks us from getting in the Liberty Bowl. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?Independence Bowl? Wonderful road trip to Shreveport, that would be.
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?Sorry if this has been discussed before, but how can the SEC block us? I see other projections show UCF vs. an SEC team. What if we beat UCF?
Oh, and thanks. Geaux MUSTANGS! Geaux Tigers!

Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?Take a look at these
http://www.cardchronicle.com/2010/11/10 ... ast-vs-sec http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/c ... 5831.story If you don't want to look, basically the SEC wants bowl matchups versus teams from AQ conference whenever possible, it would need 10 eligible teams to fulfill it's Liberty Bowl obligation. Chances are if they can fill their slot they push for a Big East team to be invited instead of the C-USA champ. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?If the SEC gets two in BCS then both Tennessee and Georgia have to win their last games to fill up SEC Bowls. If they don't both win but 1 does the SEC has a clause in Liberty Bowl Contract that says they can insist on playing a Big East team instead of CUSA. CUSA would instead go to Birmingham. I think its still a very real possibility-not necessarily a probability- that SMU goes to Hawaii Bowl again

You mean Hawaii Bowl if we win C-USA? They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?Probably that's what it would take. If BYU goes to Armed Forces Bowl they are not going to need SMU to fill up a 32,000 seat stadium

Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?So when does the SEC have the right to boot C-USA??
At any time? Only when it can't fulfill all of its bowl obligations? What is the rationale behind the clause? It seems to suggest that if the SEC is crappy and can't fill their bowls, then they somehow have the right to boot the C-USA team. I'm sorry, but I need a little help here. Here's to those that wish us well and all the rest can go to hell!!!
Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?It boils down simply to-BCS Conferences don't want to lower themselves to playing non-BCS schools

Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl? That much I get...completely. Just don't get when exactly the SEC can exercise this clause and why.

Re: If not Liberty Bowl, what bowl?Georgia plays Georgia Tech Saturday and Tennesse plays Kentucky also on Saturday. We will likely know after those games because it seems likely that 2 out of SEC Champ, Auburn (if they lose) or LSU will be in BCS Bowls
