Thumbs Up for the Offensive line

In re-watching the game, I am still impressed with the protection the offensive line gave KP! He had a lot of time back there to pick out the receivers. They deserve a bunch of "Atta Boys!" for that!

Good point as I noticed during the game how well they held their positions....

I hope they were allowed to be first in line at Krispy Kreme

If they went first there wouldn't be any left for the rest of the team

line goes first, then the line. wait, no the line gets line what he got..... so the line goes before line. what came first the line or line?

just think about next year when these guys all return for their final season backed up by the strongest bunch of 2nd teamers we've had in years!

JJ is building depth and SMU is coming back - FINALLY!!!

You think so ?!?

After losing Brooks, Beach, McJunkin, Tennison, Turner and (presumably) LeRibeus next year, your only semi-proven commodities on the OL are Bryan Collins and Ben Gottschalk. So at this point, that's 1 senior and 1 junior lettermen with experience to anchor your line in 2012.

Favreau has earned playing time, but they like him now on defense.

Add to that the fact that we only have three offensive linemen in the current recruiting class leads me to believe that in 2 years we'll be both young and thin (again) on the offensive line again unless Klemm has a couple more hosses he can bring in.

Knowing that it takes at least a couple of years to build bulk and strength on the OL, I think we should be recruiting at least 5-6 OLs every year. On the current (active/recruiting) roster we have:
sophomores: 2
fresh: 5
recruits: 3

some of the young guys have already seen some reps (especially Collins) but I figure with another full year to be ready, Duhe, Emshoff, Free, Gottschalk, Hughes & Miller should be prepared to contribute and Wall, Weeks and Lasecki could even be in the mix...I like the depth we should have next year.

Of course it's going to be tough replacing a starting line full of seniors after next year. We need to get to the point where the outgoing Seniors are replaced Jrs or 3rd year Sophs. We just need to keep linemen in the program for a full 4-5 years. We have had problems doing that in the recent past
