Word out of Florida is that Dan McCarney has been offered the UNT job and that he is considering whether or not he wants to take the job and move to Texas for a package that includes a $580,000 salary.

That would be a huge bump from what UNT has paid before.

with the success of TCU and now SMU, looks like UNT is wanting to step up their game. We could have some very entertaining football in the Metroplex in the years to come

I've heard Franchione could be in the mix. But like with McCarney, salary is probably an issue.

UNT had a nice run of SBC Championships and Bowl Games; I hope they can get back to that level by the time our series cranks up again; we need to strengthen the schedule

Considering Franchione is unemployed with no other HC job offers I seriously doubt salary is an issue.
