They hit some bumps in the road, but Conference USA's preseason favorites delivered when it counted.

Most national analysts projected SMU would win the league's Western Division title and UCF would win the league's Eastern Division title.

The Knights (8-3 overall, 6-1 in Conference USA) host the Mustangs (7-5 overall, 6-2 in C-USA) Dec. 4 in the Conference USA championship game. Kickoff is set for noon at Bright House Networks Stadium, with the game broadcast on either ESPN or ESPN2.

I don't think 'most national analysts' picked SMU..that would have been Houston, as they were ranked and had a Heisman contender. But anyway, good press.

The sentinel was the only paper in the country to give us a top 25 ranking in the pre-season. They like us more than the DMN does... go figure.

Isn't Ms. Limon also the writer that wrote a piece defending the Sentinel's top 25 ranking?

stc9, I think the Raleigh paper also had us at #25. I know it was a paper in NC.
