Depends on how far you stick your head in the sand. Bury it deep enough and I'm sure some rubes will find a positive aspect to it.

No, this sucks for us. We can only hope to break into the BCS cartel if we can replicate what they've done - repeated success for 10 years straight...
I can only imagine that this really hurts us recruiting wise.

And yet there's still people here who want SMU to put a new natatorium or soccer field or other BS before the further enhancement of our football and basketball programs. And then we wonder why TCU is so far ahead of us in the game.

Have to wonder if they'll continue to schedule us OOC each year in football.
Not sure what the next step is for us. ECU and UCF could easily defect for the Big East as well, leaving CUSA in shambles. At that point do we hitch our wagon with UH and go to the MWC (if they'll have us), just like TCU did
five years ago? Might be our best bet.

We need an indoor practice facility IMO. Hell, even HPHS has one

And Moody is a dump. The Crum Center is top-notch, but Moody needs serious work. And no, I don't mean adding a jumbotron that looks like it was designed in 1993.

Having personally visited ECU and watched a game there now, I really doubt their attractiveness to a BCS conference. Then again, I'm not an expert.

How so? Greenville is a dump, but they have some nice FB facilities (or so I thought) and decent attendance numbers

Only that it will be funny when the Big East blows up and TCU's looking for a new conference again!!

For some reason it now seems hard to quantify, and usually it's not good to make judgments based on "vibes". Having said that, the NC market is already plenty saturated with Wake, Duke, NCSU, UNC...and it seems that Greenville/the NC coast doesn't offer much appeal. I'm gonna have to fall back on the horribly inaccurate it doesn't seem like a real threat to happen. I mean we travel for sh*t, but we do offer Dallas/Texas entry, a private, well respected academic school, and we can literally raise money at the drop of the hat, yada yada yada
