Conference USA members East Carolina and Southern Miss have announced they have accepted bowl invitations.

"These two football programs have always represented Conference USA well in the postseason," Conference USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky said. "I am so pleased to have them be part of two tremendous bowl games."

East Carolina is set to face an opponent from the ACC in the Military Bowl in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, December 29. The Pirates will be the first team to represent Conference USA in the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman benefitting the USO, which will be held at RFK Stadium. Kickoff is 2:30 p.m. EST and will be televised on ESPN.

Southern Miss will participate in the Beef `O' Brady's St. Petersburg Bowl on Tuesday, December 21 against a Big East team. The Golden Eagles extend the league's longest active bowl streak by making its ninth straight postseason trip, but first to St. Petersburg. The third annual bowl is set to begin at 8 p.m. EST and will also be televised on ESPN.

UCF to Liberty (enjoy Memphis)
Tulsa to Armed Forces (enjoy Dallas)
Texas EP to New Orleans (enjoy NO)
SMU to Hawai'i (Yes!) - (enjoy Honolulu -- the weather, the beach, the surf, the pools, the food, the culture, the entertainment, pep rally on the beach...)

I assume you mean UTEP to New Orleans since Houston isn't Bowl Eligible.

If SMU beats UCF, where does UCF end up? Could they go to New Orleans and bump UTEP to Hawaii? Or would UCF go to Hawaii?

Good question. Looks like some think UCF already won the CUSA.

What irony would await if they ended up here in Dallas - against Army?

And, oh, the fun with signs (for those who stayed in town) that could be had in the stands... ;)

I think if SMU wins, UCF goes to Hawaii, UTEP goes to Dallas, Tulsa goes to New Orleans.
