Army to Armed Forces Bowl

Army has sent out an email to its boosters announce they are going to the Armed Forces Bowl.

Not to be outdone by the Navy or Air Force, Army announced the game is in Ft. Worth.

They'll just need a few humvees to get 'em to Ford.

I had to wade through at least 20 e-mails I got yesterday from various sources (association of graduates, athletics website, booster club, class e-mail list, football e-mail list, regional alumni e-mail list, ...) to find the one that happened to make that mistake. It was in a graphic as opposed to in the text of a message, so I almost missed it even though I was looking for it.

(And I usually catch those things - in the past I have sent proofreader's comments to our SID about various things on the athletics website.)

My brother-in-law, a West Point grad, sent me the email he received announcing the Army Bowl game. I think he was trying to brag.

One can only imagine how delicious my response back was after noticing the 'oops' in the graphic.
