Very sad news. Don Meredith was one of the nicest gentlemen — and he absolutely was a gentleman of the highest level — I have had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing.

God, Dandy Don Meredith. Rest in peace, podnah.

I met him a time or two but my dad knew him a bit. Some of the younger fans may not remember how big Don was in the 1970s with Monday Night Football and his acting career. Still, he was always such a nice guy and willing to trade jokes with you. No matter how big he got, he never lost his Texas goold ole boy essence.

I always loved his timing for "Turn out the lights, the party is OVER!" He will be missed!
