Hard to fathom a coach in today's environment would agree to less money. Kudos!

Pat Hill has outcoached a lot of BCS coaches during his career. Have wondered why he hasnt gone on to bigger things.

Not to sound crass, but maybe he just likes where he lives and likes his job. The people in the Valley really dig him, I bet he is pretty well taken care of there. Satisfaction is a hard thing to find. Good on him if he found it.

I thought I remembered him taking a pay cut or delaying a raise or something last year too, so I did a little googlin'

Agreed with all the posts. I think he is a really solid coach, and you have to wonder if he's found what a lot of other coaches only dream about - contentment. I don't know the details around Urban Meyer's work ethic, etc., but the job took a toll on his health and family. If you can find that right job, the money is a secondary concern.
