The game: please not another Navy wrist slitter

Anyone heard anything about KPs status? Ankle on the mend? Do we think he needs the three weeks to script out the plays and get on lock lime the Nevada game?

Anyone have thoughts on how in the hell our defense is going to suddenly become competent at stopping the option? Worst case scenario of the UCF game (Kyle off, we go three and out, other team runs it down our throat for an 8 minute TD drive) seems to be very much in play against this Army team.

Finally I wonder what if any kind of freaking there might be if the place is packed with Army fans on the home/ box side.

And ultimate final: hoping the weather is amazing and the grassy knoll ends up packed with SMU folks.

After being able to rest, the team came back from the bye week looking greater than it had in the weeks before. I would expect a similar result from the amount of time the team will enjoy before the bowl game.

Hayden Greenbauer

he is a red-shirt DB who was an option QB in high school. he ran the practice squad offense the week before navy playing QB. same will probably be done this time, except for 3 weeks. we'll be ready. the option works for navy & army b/c teams don't see it but maybe once a year. we have seen it once (i know there are differences between their option attacks) and will have time to practice it for this one.

Not so worried about stopping Army, they will move the ball and control some clock (unless we get ahead quickly,) but I think we will get stops. What worries me is turnovers. Getting them is something Army is good at. Coughing them up is something we are good at. Really need to work on that.

Army will not get turnovers against us as their secondary is quite slow and we'll use our speed to go right through them.

Padron to Robinson will be a common sight.

Did you get to watch Army/Navy? Really provided a glimpse of Army's strengths and weaknesses. We aren't going to be able to run it down the middle on them, but their secondary is D-2 level.

Kyle just needs to connect on the deep pass.

yeah, i watched the first half. enjoyed the opening drives where both teams turned the ball over on their second play. sloppy start. we should pick apart their secondary pretty easily. if all we did was hammer at them w/ ZL, we'd probably still come out ahead. we'll need to work him in early to keep their D on the field and wear them out so Kyle can do his thing

We need to work ZL so Army has to respect it so they can't drop 8 and force KP into tight windows

I watched the first half of the Hawaii-Army game. Hawaii jumped out to a quick 3 TD lead. I quit watching it at that time, assuming Hawaii would pound the Black Knights. Turns out they had to hold on for dear life and won by three. I'm curious to know what happened in the second half
