The two SMU football clips I have up on youtube have gotten more comments the last week than they have the last three years.

Below is the latest comment posted last night...hopefully this is happening everywhere, and shows that Thad's dream of the "guy in Ohio who comes across an SMU game" is coming to fruition:

I just watched that ESPN 30 for 30. I never knew exactly what happened. Thats [deleted].....It made me want to root for SMU from now on..Its funny, they have a better record than Texas this year. Every school is doing what SMU did and everyone knows about..From the President to the A.D to everyone. Go Ponys

I keep having the same experience over and over. Yesterday we had a boardroom presentation to a group that was mostly VP level guys and above. I'm relatively new here, so I hadn't yet met any of them on that side of the business. Anyway, when I walked in to get ready for the presentation, these guys (all of whom are from the east coast) were talking about the film. The gist of the conversation was exactly what you said above: I didn't know exactly what happened; had forgotten SMU was that good; really want to support this team now; sad that SMU's been through so much; so great about the resurgence.

Everyone LOVES the Underdog, and the Ponies will benefit mightily from it. I am curious to see how this will affect how many people tune into the Bowl Game.

I don't want to overestimate the effect of this film, which will of course eventually wane. But I wonder the degree to which this helps us improve our conference affliation as the Big Shuffle approaches.
