If so, how well received were they?
I have been a die hard Mustang since about two years before I got accepted in 2004. My brother, who loves SMU but went to Cincinnati watched this and felt immense pride for the Mustang tradition in our family.
I think anybody who has Mustang roots feels incredible connection to this story, so did they show this on campus and were there lots of younger people there? Because we can talk of the glory days all we want, but it's the younger people who need to start believing.

I sent a link to the trailer a week or two ago to a long-time SMU faculty member, and his brief response was, "this is not being promoted on campus at all. thank you"

Wow, REALLY?
The thing is an instant pride booster. Weak.

The important thing to remember is to keep the faculty as isolated as possible. Sorry, Thad. No offense to your father.
I wouldn't trust what those people know anyway because when I was there, many of them stayed locked up in their offices and only appeared from their graves when they walked to either their cars or the classroom.

I have a Fr daughter there. The general comments she heard were positive (and she didn’t acknowledge she had a relative in it). SMU was in the middle of finals so the viewership of students may have been depressed.

I graduated last year, and thus have many friends still in school. From what I saw (Facebook/Twitter), almost every current student that I am connected with was viewing the program. I know it's a small sample, but I feel that it is fairly representative of the SMU community. Students tuned in, there is no question.

and to think we live in a state where public school faculty from elementary through high school are required to be at football games

No school-sponsored "showings" but most students did watch.

Some in the university's brass didn't want this dredged up again. Meadows want to do stuff for it, but there were conflicts (everyone in meadows is very proud).
Professors and administrators love this. My dad keeps telling me of random times it gets brought up (positively) in behind closed doors meetings. Told me the dean of his department brought it up and he can't remember a time the guy has brought up anything in a department-wide meeting that wasn't related to the department.
...
Wish I would have been invited to one of the frat house viewing parties. I guess I'm still not cool enough.

Maybe you can get our favorite Spanish professor to prepare a translation to be distributed in Mexico.
